On Blogging

I live in New York now, it's very exciting! One day, Hannah and I saw someone on my street (in Brooklynnn) eating china spaghetti out of a box (that once upon a time, I remembered, jr.high maybe? could pass as a purse if you were in like, art club?) Something about the way the noodles slapped against his chest hit us both at once with an unconquerable craving for a noodle lunch to call our own, so we JMZ'd straight in to the heart of China and sat ourselves at the restaurant pictured above (it was February). They gave us a very, very strange tea. It made us very quiet, and confused. They were watching a game show with a very, very round woman in a unitard and tutu who was contorting her body to fit through a hoop that of course appeared too small for her very round body. She was so taut in that unitard, it was remarkable.

One thing I love to do here is eat really incredible food all the time. It's everywhere! It's the best! Another thing I like to do here is shop too much. I have so many matching tropical plants on my windowsills, they look so full of something when everything behind them is covered in snow, winter is a marshmallow world, you know! In addition to these plants, I have a small collection of rocks, shells, and sticks which I started bringing home from East Hampton when I knew I was soon leaving it for good!

And what good it was when I left! What an experience THAT was! Ask me about it personally, privately, for I disclaimed my right to comment negatively about the foundation. Regardless of the insanity, the whole thing looks amazing on my resume - produced limited edition hand gilded art publication, contributed to works exhibited in major NYC galleries, developed and applied non-profit fundraising and event planning strategies, participated in board meetings and led event planning meetings- by the way if you need help updating your resume, I think I have truly mastered that particular language art.

Finally, I would like to formally announce that I was accepted in to one of the two grad schools I decided to apply to just weeks before the deadlines approached, and that I will in fact be living in New York for a bit longer in order to attend NYU for my masters in Art Education. This news probably includes some kind of enviable summer studio art program in Italy, and the guarantee of eating pizza for dinner for the next few nights to celebrate! YES IT DOES! I EARNED THAT PIZZA!!

UPDATE: Just had pizza for breakfast!
